Foods for Being Active – Part 4

July 6, 2016

We all know we should eat healthy, but it isn’t always easy. Life is hectic and budgets are tight. The best thing you can do is a avoid an all-or-nothing attitude and keep basic healthy foods in mind. You don’t have to get fancy!

In the past few blogs, we have provided several healthy foods that will make your workouts the best they can be. These include avocados, watermelon, olive oil, and legumes. Today, we have two more healthy options for you to consider!

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a powerful source of vitamin C. It is also great for hydrating. We recommend you eat a grapefruit without sugar before your workout. The hydration will help you burn more fat cells and see better results for your work.

Yogurt

If you can have dairy, yogurt is fantastic addition to any fitness diet. It keeps your bones strong with protein, calcium, and vitamin D. Strong bones sustain strong muscles. Avoid the yogurts with granola and fruit included, as they are usually mostly sugar.

Berries

Berries are a great source of antioxidants, which defend you from inflammation and joint pain. They are wonderful in yogurt, cereal, or smoothies, but you can also eat them on their own! Try snacking on berries.
