Meet Our Personal Trainer Team

We have a very experienced personal training staff that is dedicated to your success.  That means we will take the time to find a personal trainer who fits you. Your certified personal trainer will tailor training to your unique fitness goals, accelerating you on your path to fitness. We want you to succeed in whatever your fitness goals may be and welcome any suggestions or comments that you may have!

JOE

Joe began his journey in the health and fitness industry in 1986 because of his life challenges, which later became a passion for a healthier lifestyle. He worked for Shell Oil for 30 years and is now retired and ready for the next chapter in his life! He is currently Houston Gym’s AFAA-certified group exercise program director, where he manages over 65 group exercise programs and 16 certified instructors. He is an international aerobics competitor with a 2004 gold medal, as well as a national aerobics competitor from 2004 to 2006 with gold, silver, and bronze medals. In 2008, he placed 4th in his first international bodybuilding completion in Amsterdam.


ALDRIC

Aldric was once a whopping 432 lbs. Over his adult years, Aldric lost over 200 lbs using his workout ethic and knowledge of nutrition. Not only does Alric now specialize in weight loss management, but has the gumption, tenacity, and personality to keep you motivated in your fitness journey. His personalized fitness routines have helped numerous clients and he wants you to be his next success story.


ALEX

Alex is a man of many accomplishments, he was once a behemoth in stature, weighing 355 lbs about 3 years ago. Since then, Alex has leaned down for bodybuilding competitions and gained fitness knowledge while training at Houston Gym. As of now, he inspires others as a personal trainer to accomplish their strength and conditioning goals like he has done and is willing to work with whatever his client's personal fitness goals may be.


ERIC

Eric Metz is a certified trainer. Before his training career, Eric had hands-on experience at T3 Performance. He was mentored by Ryan Richmond and his staff at T3. During his experience, Eric led group training for athletes, led sports teams himself at Rocky River High School, and helped assisted camps for football. Eric also received hands-on experience at Berea Midpark High School. There he was mentored by Kyle Dickinson and the staff. During his experience, Eric has helped assist with strength and conditioning for every sport, led groups on his own, and helped one on one athletes with injuries. Eric is originally from Erie, Pennsylvania. Eric went on to college at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio to advance his knowledge and experience in Exercise Science. Eric also played football earning a 3-year varsity letter. As a trainer, Eric is able to assist with rehab and return to competition. His mission is to help individuals who are stagnant and have the urge to conquer their fitness journey.


CAROLINE

Every fitness journey is unique and special, and there are endless ways to improve and evolve. Building strength, gaining muscle, controlling body fat, better mobility, less pain… more fulfillment and happiness. Whatever your endeavors may be, I want to be the highlight of your week, and offer my best guidance and wisdom. I am a competitive bodybuilder, and a passionate trainer. I get to be at the gym everyday, doing what I love - and my goal is for my clients to feel the same type of overwhelming joy when they step into Houston Gym.


TREY

Coach Trey is a dedicated Certified Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach, Nutritionist, and Corrective Exercise Specialist. He specializes in Strength & Conditioning (sports-specific), Weight Management, Cardio-Boxing, and Nutrition. With over a decade of professional experience, and twenty- five years of personal experience in the fitness, sports performance, and nutritional/supplement space, he has become very well-versed in helping individuals transform their lives through fitness and wellness. His main mission has been to empower those he works with to reach their full potential, with a three-pronged focus; mentally, physically, and spiritually. As the “Minister of Motivation”, Coach Trey believes fitness is truly mentally driven. Like everything in life, it’s simply a series of choices. The choice to start, keep going, finish, etc... It’s not just about looking good, but truly making a lifestyle change. His philosophy revolves around a single phrase, FinishSTRONG! That’s based on the mentality that no matter what task is presented finish and finish it stronger than when you started it. Physically, he has a result-driven, individualized approach to programming, nutrition, and training. Coach Trey’s commitment to success goes beyond the gym. His focus on building a strong coach-client relationship, providing unmatched motivation, and helping others overcome is like no other. He is always up to date with the latest research, trends, and training styles in the fitness/wellness industry, but provides an old-school mentality to provide a great balance. Through the many obstacles Coach Trey has overcome in life, (including kidney failure & an aneurysm) he molded a unique perspective and approach to changing lives. Fitness has always been a staple and saving grace in this Beaumont, TX native’s life. So, it's only right that he passes it on so everyone can…#FinishSTRONG


EVI

Evi D. Smith was born in and currently resides in Houston, TX. She later attended Lamar University in Beaumont and graduated with her Associates in Applied Science in Kinesiology. Due to Hurricane Rita, she later finished her extended education at U of H where she received her Bachelors in Fine Arts & Music Theory.

Ms. Smith began her weight loss journey in 2015 when she found out she weighed over 323 lbs and doctors told her she was type 2 diabetic and needed to change her life for the better. At this time, she decided she needed to take control of her health. After months of changing her eating habits and slight exercise when time permitted, this became a lifestyle change and soon a career change.

By the end of 2016, she became a NASM CPT while transitioning to ISSA Certifications in PT and Nutrition. She then gained a strong clientele of men and women of all ages who sought out her different approach to fitness and natural weight loss goals.

Ms. Smith has since competed in a few bikini competitions and previously won trainer of the year for 2019 & 2021. Her future plan is to open her own gym and continue to educate others on the importance of healthy living.


MALCOLM

A highly experienced personal trainer with over 15 years in the fitness industry, dedicated to helping clients transform their bodies and improve their overall health. As an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and ISSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach, combining science-based programming with real-world training experience to deliver results that last.

Specializing in strength and conditioning and corrective exercise, designing customized programs that not only build muscle and enhance performance but also improve mobility, stability, and injury prevention. My approach focuses on proper movement mechanics, functional strength, and sustainable progress tailored to each client’s goals and fitness level.
