What Makes a Successful Mindset? Part 3

October 31, 2016

Being fit is more than working your body – it’s also working your mind. If your brain isn’t on board with what you’re doing, it’s very difficult to develop your body. Many people neglect their mindsets in favor of cultivating their bodies, and as a result, they struggle with motivation and injuries. Your mindset needs equal or greater maintenance as your body does. At Houston Gym, we understand the body-mind connection in fitness, and we want to help each and every one of our clients achieve their goals. A healthy mindset is the beginning to lasting fitness.

In our last blog, we discussed how persistence and humility can give you the clarity and motivation to wisely pursue your fitness goals and find success. In today’s blog, we’re going to look at two last elements to a healthy mindset.dreamstime_xxl_17801029

Dismiss Regrets

  • Regret is ultimately a destructive emotion. If you find yourself consistently wishing you had more training, you can get yourself trapped in a negative spiral. Instead, do your best with what you control. Honestly assess what you are willing and able to do right now to reach your goal, and do it. Afterwards, figure out what you’re going to do next to move forward rather than looking back and wishing you had done more.

Vulnerability

  • Even though many people see vulnerability as weakness, it’s actually key to making progress in your fitness journey. It prevents you from becoming too confident, keeping your feet planted on solid ground so you can make progress. It allows you to learn from failure and turn it into success.

At Houston Gym, we have created an environment where people can grown stronger in body and mind. We are here to be your closest allies. Check out our fitness classes and contact our personal trainer team to learn more about how we can help you!
